Enter Jesus Christ Superstore and their lineup of religious action figures!!!
Now, I am all for ingenuity…but even I, while I did laugh quite a bit, was shocked by these toys.
Why?
Well not because they are action figure representatives of major figureheads in religion, but because they are not very interesting. Sure, they have weapons (throwing nails, an AK-47 and even a Magnum 66 automatic for Buddha) but I mean c’mon…someone else already beat you to it and their action figures are just a little better (their Jesus has “gliding” action).
They are the good folks over at Accoutrements. I have two of their action figures (Jesus and Moses) and have purchased at least one other one. I would gladly purchase more…if I could find them. Oh well. The search goes on for the perfect Jesus Action Figure. [so far accoutrements is gliding head and cross above the competition...I mean how can you go wrong with a company that manufactures Gummi Bacon?]

I decided that I would share with you all my favorite pieces of software that I have used this past year (and a bit). Enjoy and feel free to leave me comments about your favorite pieces of software!
: A favorite staple in my web browsing experience. I use this daily, both at work and at home. I also have Firefox Portable on my thumb drive when I visit my folks.
: I have been using this almost exclusively at work for the past couple of years and then decided to put it on my computer at home too. Love it!
: An outstanding free office suite. I started using this roughly 3 years ago and haven’t looked back. I started using it at work and within a couple months, downloaded it on my home computer and can’t speak too highly of it.
: Have had this since it first became available for free download and love it. I don’t own and iPod, but I still find it’s interface very user friendly and the way it organizes files and the like is very simple and efficient.
: I had been looking for a photo alteration software that was affordable and yet had a decent variety of options. I found GIMP about a year and a half ago and use it exclusively for anything that I do at home or work. Now I am not a graphic designer or graphic artist but I know that on a professional level it doesn’t quite match up to Adobe Photoshop, however for home use, you can’t beat it. Stop using pirated Photoshop software and just download this beauty.
: I’ve included Flickr in this list even though it isn’t really “software”. I include it because I use it so freakin’ often and it is a great way to share pictures with friends, family and the world (not that the world really cares but…). Their free account is fantastic and I had been using it for almost 2 years. Then last year when Deyen was born I decided to upgrade to a pro account and for the price it is a good value. I’ll probably go back to a free account in about 6 months, but then will get a pro account when we have our second kid (Don’t get any smart ideas…Jenn is NOT pregnant!).
: Got this for free with an external hard drive. I’d looked at it before but wasn’t overly convinced that it was anything special. Then I decided one day to give it a go. Man…there is nothing out there that you pay for that works as well as this free piece of software from Google. I am pretty much ready to ditch my Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition. See ya adobe!
: Got this a couple months ago from giveawayoftheday.com, a free software site which posts new software daily that you would normally have to pay for however for that day only you can get it for free. The reason this is a good piece of software is that the database is linked up to a few internet movie sites, so you just type in the name of your movie and it will download all the information and even a picture of the box art. Phenomenal for free and even decent for the price that you would normally have to pay for it. 
: Was realizing that it might be a good idea to backup my hard drive semi-regularly and decided to go on the hunt for decent backup software. This one seemed to stand out and so far, I haven’t had a problem.
: For anyone who likes to have a lot of control in designing their websites, this WYSIWYG software is very, very good. They even have a portable version which I used pretty exclusively for the past year (until I switched to WordPress a couple months ago). I still use it for another site that I am upkeeping which doesn’t require daily updates.

Yesterday was one heckuva day. Nice weather, good evening with friends, relatively chill baby. However, there was an incident that snuck in there in the middle of the day that really added some excitement.
Our washroom sink has been giving us a bit of trouble lately and your typical draino-type sludge hasn’t really worked. So I decided to try this, the One Second Plumber. After carefully reading the instructions, I proceeded to operate the device. One second later…
Well, I like to say that if you can’t laugh at yourself, then you shouldn’t laugh at anyone else. So here’s me laughing at myself *HA*! I obviously didn’t really understand one part of the directions which called for plugging the drain opposite the faucet. I read it thinking that for some odd reason they didn’t want water to go down there while you were operating their forceful plumber. Well-ity, well-ity, well-ity…it appears that it was actually so that the s#!& that was in your pipes doesn’t do what you see in the picture.
45 minutes to an hour later, the bathroom looked normal, well actually cleaner than normal. I shake my head at myself. I know. I know.

Today’s report reveals that many people in the area actually do care and are doing something about this damaging event. That brightens my mood quite a bit

Jenn and I finally picked up a Jolly Jumper for Deyen. I put him in it and he wasn’t too sure to begin with. Actually, as I was putting him in it he was screaming up a storm and as soon as he was in it he quieted right down. After a while, he was getting used to it. Not jumping yet, but he was in it for a good 10 or 15 minutes before he was ready to be done.
I am so looking forward to playing more with him in that Jolly Jumper!

Finally! We have [some] snow. The first noteworthy snowfall of the Toronto winter season. And it looks like a potential 10-15cm more in the next day or so. Well, here’s hoping.
It still ain’t all that cold outside though. Hey, not complaining here. Got an e-mail from my sister saying that their normal 10 minute bus ride took over 2 hours and they couldn’t walk forward after that. I ain’t missing that too much I’ll say ;p

For the first time I’ve heard in the past 3 months, Deyen giggled. That’s right. He giggled. Not just a noise, but, from my opinion, an actual giggle.
Deyen has been “talking” for at least 4 weeks now (maybe 6). By “talking” I mean making a variety of different noises and clearly experimenting with his voice. It has been quite exciting and hopefully in the next little while we’ll be able to get some kind of recording of him laughing. Talk about making our hearts absolutely explode with joy. ~It was absolutely beautiful~
