I have to say that I am a bit conflicted about this movie – which is exactly why it is such a fine film.
On the technical side of things this movie is superb. The direction, acting/characters and story/script all served each other so very well. No one aspect of this movie really stood out from the others. I like movies like that.
What leaves me conflicted is the theme of the movie and the way it unfolds/ends. I won’t give anything away here because I totally think people should watch this movie. But I would also recommend the movie Boondock Saints when it comes to themes of vigilantism. It has a completely different story line and comes to a different, albeit equally conflicting, conclusion. (Be warned though, Boondock Saints is much more violent and has more strikes against it than The Brave One – in that there is more foul language and other such things to watch out for, should those things offend thee.
