Almost exactly what I was expecting and what I wanted from this movie. Liam Neeson delivers the goods and drives home a wonderfully vengeful performance – right on par with Mel Gibson in Payback (one of my favorite movies!).

The direction in this movie is nothing to be lauded or looked down upon. The acting is just where it should be with just enough depth thrown in for you to care about the characters. The story is really unbelievably simple – nothing too deep here. It was, however, written by one of my favorite french directors/writers/producers – Luc Besson! Besson is best known for La Femme Nikita and Leon (aka The Professional – another of my favorite movies!). What I really enjoyed most about this movie though was the action, which is exactly what you should enjoy about this movie.

If you like action, rent this movie. If you don’t, then don’t. Simple as that…
