Happening upon this beauty of a web app is something so enjoyable and refreshing. Harmony is a simple (in appearance only) drawing app done in HTML5 utilizing the canvas element. Mr. Doob is the creator of this wicked app. Check out his post on Harmony and his blog. You can also sample all his projects by going to his homepage and selecting from them at the top of the page.
Well, maybe not exactly what I am waiting for, but it’s a darn good first step. If you have a Google Wave account, just go to your inbox and click on the arrow and then on ‘notifications’ and check off how often you want to receive notifications. I stumbled on the article at Lifehacker here and then it’s also on the Google Wave Blog here.
One of my favorite futuristic racing games ever is the WipEoutseries for the Playstation. It combines wicked physics, awesome graphics and designs and, the thing I love most about it – the soundtrack!
Each installment has it’s own wicked soundtrack. Such awesome contributors as Fluke, Apollo440, Chemical Brothers, Future Sound Of London…I mean I could go on and on about the groups that are on the soundtracks. While looking for the CDs to buy online, I stumbled on this wicked free album featuring music inspired by the game its artists. Go head to G.A.M.E. now and download vol. 3 and enjoy the electronica goodness!
I have bee obsessively checking the app store since I heard that Square Enix would be releasing Final Fantasy I & II for the iPhone. Well, my obsessiveness has paid off! They were officially released yesterday! WHEEEEE :-]
I have downloaded FFI and will do number II when I finish I. Already it looks and feels so good. Square knew what the fans were looking for and man, I think they have totally delivered a winner. I hope and wonder if this means they will release III through VI for it as well??? One can dream can’t one
p.s….as I was writing this (1 day after release) there are already reviews up…check them out here and here. While I think they may have some valid points, I won’t be able to say too much about them one way or the other, after all, I’m only 15 minutes into #1
So, I’ve been reading a lot of opinions about the iPad from a lot of sites that I trust and while I agree with a lot of what has been said, I am still an optimist about it all.
To all that I say “wait”, which is what a lot of people are saying. I can’t afford it right now anyway. If I could I would get it for sure, but I can’t and so I will wait for at least generation 2. We’ll see. I have drooled about it rather a lot though
I love my iPhone. I love RPG’s. I love Final Fantasy. So, when I read today over at Slashdot that Final Fantasy I & II were coming to my iPhone, i just about peed I was so happy!
So, I was startled the other day to find a message on my Picasaweb account saying that I could purchase and extra 20gb for $5. I wasn’t sure what exactly that meant so I ignored it. Then, today on my adventure through the vast inter-verse I found this article on a google blog. And now I have a HUGE amount of storage on Picasaweb and at the price can’t even remotely complain! So, if you ever thought of using Google’s Picasaweb to store and share photos, now you can do a whole heckuva lot for a very tiny price.
I love anything that helps to simplify seemingly convoluted topics. For instance, the current healthcare bill debate in the states. It’s crazy how convoluted and confusing some topics can be. Then you have someone who seems to be able to sum it up for the layperson and in such a convincing way. Well that’s what vlogger (a video blogger) John Green did and then Thought Bubble took his original post and did some updated animations. Here’s Thought Bubble’s video version of John Green’s original.
So, I like to catalog things that I own – movies, games, music etc…. And over the years I’ve tried many different ways to keep these things organized. Lifehacker has provided many different pieces of software. However I feel that their latest highlight may just be the one for me.
Gurulib
Gurulib.com is the name of this game and man, let me tell you, it’s not flashy (no web 2.0 shnazzy graphics here), it’s simple and easy to use and very, very good. You can keep track of your books, movies, games, cd’s and software. It’s very easy to look up items that you own and also to import them as well (I imported my entire library via .csv and it got 95%+ of it in no sweat!). You have 4 different standard views and also a cover flow idea (which is a bit slow on my computer but still nice eye-candy).
I highly recommend at least trying this one out. Like I said earlier, I’ve tried others and if I had to recommend another one it would be Tellico for the linux machines out there…that one is packed! I really wish there was a half way decent way to get a windows port of that piece of software…oh well, keep wishing (stupid windows).
Deyen has been aching for a good snowfall so that he could make a snowman (or a snow Santa, depending on what mood he’s in). The other night at our friends place, he had the chance with their daughter to enjoy the wonderful, wet, good packing snow. After a good build, his 3-year-old [...] […]
Momentarily funny things are what life with young kids is about. The chance that you catch one of these moments on tape is a treasure. Below is such a moment. Levi and Jenn were having fun after Deyen went to bed horse-playing on the bed. He would simply launch himself [...] […]
