Found this video over at Gizmodo and just had to share it with you.
I had so much fun following the apple event off and on today and was so disappointed when they announced it as the “iPad”.
*GROAN*
They couldn’t think of anything better?! C’mon Apple – you guys are supposed to be creative; how creative is iPad? It’s not. I was hoping personally for “Canvas” (that’s a wicked name for a device).
Do I want one? Heck Yes! But I will have to wait, it’s cheap, but not for me – $499-$829 depending on harddrive size and whether you want it 3G enabled or not. But check out the video below and tell me if it doesn’t just make you drool!
So, the Screaming Monkeys & Sanctuary had their fall arts eXtravaganza a month ago and guess what…a friend video taped the Monkeys performance and gave me a copy and allowed me to upload it for your enjoyment.
So, sit back, relax and enjoy Richard Bechard’s Knights Around The Campfire!
Once upon a time about, oh, I don’t know, say 15 or so years ago, I loved the yo-yo. And it wasn’t just me. There were a group of us in high school who loved the yo-yo. But, like all (or most anyway) high school fads, the desire to be a yo-yo champ fizzled fairly quickly.
Today, my son was whipping around this rubber mouse he has and it reminded me of those yo-yo days. So I offered to show him a video of some yo-yo’ing and when I typed in “yo-yo” on youtube, the video below was the first listing and I LOVE IT!
Wow. If only I had dedicated myself to this fad just a bit more then I could have been, well, no where near as good as this guy, but, well…nah. I wouldn’t have been that good even if I spent the past 15 years doing it. Why? I’m not coordinated enough or dedicated enough. But I am very glad to see guys like this! It’s amazing what you can do with a bit of string and a bit of plastic.
I want to watch this movie so badly! I was reading this article and found the trailer at the end. I’ve known about this movie coming for a while, but haven’t posted on it. My bad ;-p
I know that this looks like Street Figther meets Mortal Kombat meets Torque (minus the motorcycles) meets Windows2051, but I think I might have to just waste my money on this one!
**UPDATE** You can watch the entire movie here and I highly recommend it! It’s less than 30 minutes long and should totally be made into a full-length movie…in my opinion.
Via Affirmativa is a really neat arts movement that I have been interested in for quite a while. They just released an introduction video that is quite good – both quality and what they have to say. Check it out, then check out their website (it’s quite sparse but just surf around, I’m sure you’ll find something interesting!).
I love anything that helps to simplify seemingly convoluted topics. For instance, the current healthcare bill debate in the states. It’s crazy how convoluted and confusing some topics can be. Then you have someone who seems to be able to sum it up for the layperson and in such a convincing way. Well that’s what vlogger (a video blogger) John Green did and then Thought Bubble took his original post and did some updated animations. Here’s Thought Bubble’s video version of John Green’s original.
Browsing through my RSS feeds via Google Reader, I stumbled upon this video and fell in love at first sight… [if you want to follow my shared google reader items check me out here]
I love the book, Where The Wild Things Are. Especially having a child now and reading it again and again, it has grown on me all over again. I have to admit though, that when the news first started to hit the web about Spike Jonze doing a movie based on the book I was SO highly sceptical – especially with some other good books being turned into crappyless thangood movies. The first trailer to hit the web had me intrigued. It kind of looked like something the Henson team would do (Dark Crystal, Labyrinth – mix of live action and huge puppets/animatronics). Everything about it intrigued me. And this trailer hugely intrigues me. It’s nice to know as well that the author, Maruice Sendak, contacted Spike to do that movie and that both writers kept in close contact with Sendak through out the writing process (imdb.com). So, with all that…watch the trailer and enjoy!
Deyen has been aching for a good snowfall so that he could make a snowman (or a snow Santa, depending on what mood he’s in). The other night at our friends place, he had the chance with their daughter to enjoy the wonderful, wet, good packing snow. After a good build, his 3-year-old [...] […]
Momentarily funny things are what life with young kids is about. The chance that you catch one of these moments on tape is a treasure. Below is such a moment. Levi and Jenn were having fun after Deyen went to bed horse-playing on the bed. He would simply launch himself [...] […]
