Frosty takes a dive!

// March 3rd, 2010 // No Comments » // Deyen, Friends, video

Deyen has been aching for a good snowfall so that he could make a snowman (or a snow Santa, depending on what mood he’s in). The other night at our friends place, he had the chance with their daughter to enjoy the wonderful, wet, good packing snow. After a good build, his 3-year-old instincts took over and – BAM! it came down! Enjoy the carnage!

Cuddles

Momentarily funny things are what life with young kids is about. The chance that you catch one of these moments on tape is a treasure. Below is such a moment.

Levi and Jenn were having fun after Deyen went to bed horse-playing on the bed. He would simply launch himself at the pillows and smile and giggle galore. We managed to get in on tape and called it “cuddling” the pillows.

Laughing…

// December 26th, 2009 // No Comments » // Family, Levi, video

I love the sound of our boys laughing. When they discover it early on, it’s so amazing to hear them simply giggle away! Jenn can get Levi going and below is a vid of her doing just that!

Music to my ears :-)

Latest Videos

I love to upload videos to YouTube of our boys doing things. The challenge is that I rarely find the time to do it in moderation and usually have like 3 or more to show off at once. Well, today we have two for you all to enjoy!

The first one (below) is of Levi crawling. Our little guy took on the challenge and joy of crawling much sooner than his big brother did; then again he has a greater reason to – keep up with brother!

This one is of our good friend feeding Levi some solid(ish) food. That’s right, the little gaffer has already started his solid food journey. It feels like just yesterday that we were meeting him for the first time! Man, how time flies :-)

Gloomy – definition by Deyen

[gloo-mee]
-adjective, gloom-i-er, gloom-i-est
When you feel tired of playing a game and you sigh, and then you have to play with your toys.

Freakin’

From Fall / Winter 2009

“Can you put Levi in the freakin’ tent?”
“Excuse me?”
“Can you put the freakin’ baby in the freakin’ tent?”
“…I dont’ know…”

Now, imagine that conversation with the innocence of a 3 year old. Because that is exactly who I had the conversation with…Deyen. He is constantly coming up with new words that we are never quite sure about. This new one, “freakin’” he did not use in a vulgar way, I don’t think, and so, when I said, “excuse me?” it was more a point of clarification, not because I was upset by what he said. So then when he responded with “freakin’ baby” I almost doubled over in laughter (so did Jenn).

Then, to top off the night, I wore my old glasses while attending to Deyen in the bath and he looks at me and says, “those glasses are funky daddy.”

I love this kid!

Family Gatherings

Of course this is, like, almost a month late, but I thought, better late than never right?! Here’s the album of the Shank family gathering…ENJOY!

This is probably my favorite…

…Ben did this just about every time during our bocce ball session. Our sides were splitting we were laughing so hard!

Post-Halloween update

// November 1st, 2009 // No Comments » // Deyen, Family, Friends

Deyen was out and about for his first trick-or-treating experience! Last year he and Jenn stayed home and handed out candy to the neighbourhood kids. This year he went out in full giddy-up glory!

From Fall / Winter 2009

He was joined by one of his friends on this journey:

Together they had a blast and believe it or not, they were the ones who said that they’d had enough and called it a night (they’d only been out, like, maybe an hour…maybe). We then had some friends of ours stop by for a quick trick-or-treat visit,

…pretty scary eh?

Well, that was our Halloween. How was yours?

Deyen and Levi, asleep after a very long day (no nap for Deyen and no second nap for Levi), and a very hyper potluck. But, at the end of the day, we were walking home and Deyen said to us, “watch me, I’m sleeping.” He closed his eyes, showed us his closed eyes, then cuddled Levi. Minutes later, well, just look at the beautiful photo!
